My early days of motoring were in my dark ages, poor student, no money, cars were easy to maintain. I worked part time in... [yes I have to admit... Halfords or as I now know it Hellfords] and got most of my tools at staff prices.

However over the years joint maintenance on cars with friends left my kit with several duplicates, omissions, rust, oil, dirt.

So I started by cleaning the tools identifying what I had and starting to fill the gaps.

I love to research any task I take on so I started to gather books to see what sort of tools I'd need, and soon had a wish/need list.

Fortunately this was about the time of my birthday and as I'm 'difficult to buy things for' my wish list was taken with interest.

A proper tool chest, hand cleaner was gratefully received.

But my list went on......
