   I
fixed all [I thought] and went for a re-test on 6th March.
Some good & some bad. . . . . the ticks passed and the crosses failed.
Reduced the radii -bumper too
pointed.
Stainless rod welded to
pipe end, great job thanks P.
Grommets & rubber, nice and
soft.
I had the harness
mount too high, this is all it needs.
Foot well, grommet glued to nut, then
rubber sheet glued over.
- All screws in the cockpit - filled the hole with silicon - yes the posidrive
slots.
- Secured leads to distributor, they were 6" without fixing.
- Moved some loom from underside of chassis member to side [avoiding heat
from exhaust].
- Fixed some wiring in the boot.
- Added rubber sleeve to wing mirror mounting nut.
- Heater switch [the original smiths one] removed and a cover put over. -I can't believe they
failed that.
- Letter from source plus e mail from mortec.com stating engine age.
- Letter from engine builder stating max power.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
The good news.
They accepted the proof of engine age and max output & I passed the omissions
test [easily]
The speedo was OK 5 MPH over but within acceptable limits.
Most of my reworking passed OK.
The bad news.
LLLLLL
The exhaust note was 1 db too high, 101 is the limit and it was 102!
My solution to cover the nuts in the footwell failed, I'm not very happy with
this as it looks fine to me. I was told that I must put plastic nut covers on,
but I'm sure my solution would give more protection.
Heater mounting still failed, they really did not like the rubber.
The dash where the heater switch & adjuster goes failed again. They did not
like the temporary cover [badge blu tacked on, I didn't want to spoil the
veneer]
A word of caution here, they took a digital picture of this and I've heard that
the SVA boys will picture anything that looks dodgy, could be used for a
re-check to prove the status when you pass!
See SVA #3 for my solutions..
